How do I set up my Product Storage?

The Enhanced Product Storage system in trakr Counting allows you to assign precise locations (aisles, shelves, bins) to products, improving inventory accuracy, retrieval speed, and overall warehouse organization.

Using Enhanced Product Storage in trakr Counting

Overview

The Enhanced Product Storage system provides a more flexible way to organize inventory that mirrors your real-world setup. Instead of assigning products to broad "areas," you can now specify exact locations such as aisles, shelves, or bins. This new structure helps improve accuracy, speed up retrieval, and optimize warehouse organization.

Benefits of Product Storage

More Precise Organization – Assign products to specific locations within your storage system (e.g., Aisle 3, Shelf B, Bin 4).

Faster Retrieval – Locate and pick inventory more efficiently, reducing searching time.

Better Inventory Accuracy – Aligns with your warehouse layout to ensure stock is where it should be.

Scalability – Works for businesses of all sizes, from small stockrooms to large warehouses.

  • Repeat the steps above for each additional location.

  • This allows you to track stock levels across different areas within your warehouse.

3. Searching for Products by Location

  1. Use the search bar to look up a product.

  2. Filter results by storage location to quickly find items in a specific aisle, shelf, or bin.

  3. View stock quantities per location to streamline picking and restocking.

4. Updating or Changing Locations

  • Navigate to the product details page and select Edit Storage Locations.

  • Modify the location details as needed.

  • Save changes to reflect updates in your inventory system.

Best Practices

Standardize Location Naming—To avoid confusion, Use a consistent format (e.g., "A3-SB4" for Aisle 3, Shelf B, Bin 4).

Regularly Audit Locations – Ensure products remain in their assigned locations to maintain accuracy.
